Ministry life

Ministry Life
Adeboye’s ministry journey began when he joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1973. He served as an interpreter for the church’s founder, Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, and was ordained as a pastor in 1975. Following Akindayomi’s death in 1980, Adeboye became the General Overseer of RCCG in 1981. Under his leadership, RCCG has experienced exponential growth, becoming one of the largest Pentecostal organisations globally. Adeboye’s ministry is marked by his commitment to spreading the gospel, discipleship, and community development [1].

Education

Pastor E.A. Adeboye holds a strong academic background in mathematics. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1967. He furthered his education, obtaining a Master’s degree in Hydrodynamics from the University of Lagos in 1969. Adeboye’s academic pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos in 1975. His strong educational foundation laid the groundwork for his future endeavours.
