Levels of Organization:
- Parishes: The local church is the basic unit. This is the church you attend regularly. Each parish has a Pastor in charge. RCCG Peculiar People Parish is an example of a Parish.
- Areas: A collection of Parishes within a geographical region forms an Area. An Area Pastor oversees the Parishes in that Area.
- Zones: Several Areas are grouped together to form a Zone, overseen by a Zonal Pastor.
- Provinces: Zones are grouped into Provinces, led by a Provincial Pastor. Provinces can be geographically defined (e.g., RCCG Province 1 in Lagos, Nigeria) or based on a specific ministry focus.
- Regions: Provinces are further grouped into Regions, led by a Regional Pastor. This is a larger geographical grouping.
- Continental Overseers: Oversee the church’s operations within a particular continent (e.g., Continental Overseer for North America).
Functional Branches/Ministries (Not Strictly “Branches” but important):
These are specialized arms of the church focused on particular areas of ministry or service:
The Youth Ministry (Young Adults and Youths Affairs): Focuses on the spiritual development and engagement of young people.
The Children’s Ministry: Provides age-appropriate teaching and activities for children.
The Women’s Ministry (Virtuous Women): Focuses on the needs and spiritual growth of women.
The Men’s Ministry (Men of Valor): Addresses the unique challenges and opportunities facing men.
The Ushering Department: Responsible for welcoming and assisting attendees during services.
The Choir: Leads worship through music.
The Sunday School Department: Provides structured Bible teaching for all ages.
The Prayer Ministry: Organizes and leads prayer meetings and intercessory prayer efforts.
The Evangelism Department: Focuses on outreach and spreading the Gospel.
The Missions Department: Supports missionary work both locally and internationally.
